Caractères Manifestes (or Manifest Typography)

This thesis, carried out and co-written with Julie Le Corre, is a comprehensive journal in which we seek to understand to what extent typographic characters contribute to the construction of a minority identity and their connection to protest movements.

We started with the theme "typographies of the minority." We began by defining what constitutes minority status and how minorities represent themselves in terms of graphic design, both in the short and long term. We cross-referenced the aesthetics, techniques, and characters that have been most employed with the various minority causes we analyzed. Two interviews (with Marguerite Stern and Camille Baudelaire) also assisted us in our reflection.
